- Position: Travel Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT)
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,190 - $2,360
- Location: Salem, Oregon (97301) — Salem healthcare jobs, Willamette Valley
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Shift: 4x10-hour day shifts (Mon, Tue, Fri: 8:15am–6:45pm; Thu: 7:00am–5:30pm)
- On-Call: Rotating call (~7 days/month, after department closes until open)
- Employment Type: Travel healthcare job / contract
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in clinical nuclear medicine or radiology
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology preferred
- Pending Oregon nuclear medicine license with the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) allowed
- Registered in Nuclear Medicine with NMTCB or ARRT within 6 months of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from AHA within 90 days of hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months of hire
- Must pass Basic Cardiac Monitoring class within 4 months of hire
- Epic electronic health record (EHR) / Epic charting system experience required
- Proficiency operating nuclear medicine gamma cameras, probes, computer systems, film processors, survey meters, and other technical supportive devices
Responsibilities
- Perform nuclear medicine procedures in compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and radiation safety protocols
- Operate state-of-the-art nuclear medicine imaging equipment including gamma cameras and related computer systems
- Handle, store, and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals and radioactive materials safely following ALARA principles
- Draw venous blood and start/maintain IVs as needed for nuclear medicine studies
- Maintain isolation precautions and appropriate PPE protocols for patient and staff safety
- Document procedures, findings, and patient care accurately using Epic charting and hospital documentation standards
- Participate in rotating on-call schedule and float to affiliate hospitals as needed to support radiology services
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including radiology, pharmacy, nursing, and rapid response teams to ensure quality imaging and patient care
