Job Details

• Job Title: Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse / Travel RN
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1800 - $1890
• Location: Memphis, TN 38104 — travel nurse job in Memphis, Tennessee
• Setting: Short Term Acute Care, Level I Trauma Center (hospital nursing job)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 20, 2026)
• Shift: Day Shift, 4x12-hour shifts (07:00 – 19:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit: 8 NORTH, Med/Surg Telemetry
• Patient Ratio: 1:7 (team nursing with support from PCC, LPN, etc.)

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience (3+ years preferred)
• At least 1 completed previous travel assignment (travel nurse experience preferred)
• Level I Trauma experience and large hospital experience required
• Active RN license in Tennessee or compact state (travel RN eligible)
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Clinical skills: telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV start and maintenance, IV therapy
• Cerner charting experience preferred (electronic health record experience)
• Must live at least 100 miles from facility (strict travel nurse rule)
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions); COVID-19 vaccine not required
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of application
• Must be willing to work holidays if assignment overlaps with Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Monitor and interpret telemetry continuously; manage dysrhythmias and respond per protocol
• Initiate and maintain IVs, administer medications, and provide IV therapy per hospital policy
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including PT, Respiratory, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response
• Participate in team nursing with PCCs, LPNs, and other support staff to ensure safe patient care
• Float between like units and campuses within 20 miles as needed (hospital float policy)
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record and comply with facility protocols
• Adapt to a high patient census and fast-paced acute care environment
