Join a highly skilled and collaborative Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU/CICU) team in Mountain Home, AR (zip code 72653). Our 17-bed ICU/CSICU uses state-of-the-art technology and cares for patients from neonates to geriatrics. As a CVICU RN (Cardiac ICU nurse/Critical Care RN), you'll provide specialized post-op and advanced cardiac care — including CABG, valve repair/replacement, ECMO, IABP, Impella, and more — within a supportive, professional environment focused on integrity and respect during our Magnet Journey.

Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,040 – $2,150
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: April 20, 2026
• End Date: July 20, 2026
• Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00 – 07:00), 36 hours per week
• Setting: 17-bed CVICU/ICU (Cardiac ICU)
• Patient Ratios: 2:1
• Weekend Coverage: Required (12 weekend shifts per contract)

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year recent CVICU/Cardiac ICU experience required (3 years preferred) — critical care RN experience strongly preferred
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ADN required, BSN preferred)
• Current Arkansas RN license or Compact State RN license in good standing
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required (or obtained within first 6 months)
• Travel nursing experience highly preferred
• Charge nurse experience required
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• CRRT experience preferred (continuous renal replacement therapy)
• Strong communication skills; ability to read, write, and use basic computer systems
• COVID-19 and flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)

Responsibilities / Clinical Duties

• Provide specialized cardiovascular and post-operative care for patients after CABG, valve repair/replacement, carotid stenting, thoracotomy, and other cardiothoracic procedures
• Manage advanced cardiac therapies and mechanical circulatory support including ECMO, IABP, Impella, LVAD/RVAD, and induced hypothermia
• Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias, manage cardiac drips, and titrate vasoactive medications
• Care for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure and perform complex hemodynamic monitoring
• Perform and manage central lines, arterial lines, PICC lines, chest tubes, and wound care
• Assist with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, and respiratory failure interventions
• Administer blood products, emergency medications, and procedural sedation per protocol
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams: physicians, perfusion/ECMO teams, IV therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, and rapid response
• Maintain infection prevention and isolation precautions and ensure high-quality patient safety practices
• Provide compassionate, culturally competent care to a diverse patient population (infants, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics)
