Key Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Med/Surg, Telemetry, or Critical Care/ICU
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Current NYS RN license (New York nursing license)
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA or RQI), NIHSS
- Basic Coronary Care completed within 6 months of hire
- CPI certification required within 90 days of hire
- Able to float across ICU, ER, Med/Surg, and MST units at both GGH & SSMH locations
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and computer skills (EMR experience preferred)
- Ability to manage confidential patient information with discretion
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care across multiple units (ICU, ER, Med/Surg, MST) as part of the float pool
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
- Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles across the lifespan
- Participate in holiday and weekend rotations, plus required on-call (2 on-call shifts per 4-week period)
- Promote a healing environment through professionalism, effective communication, and teamwork
- Maintain patient safety, dignity, and respect; meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
