Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 – $2,130
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (April 27, 2026 – July 25, 2026)
- Hours per Week: 36 (12-hour shifts)
- Shift: Full-time day/night variable shifts (3x12 hour shifts), scheduled as needed; every other weekend; holiday rotation; plus 2 on-call shifts per 4-week period
- Location: Geneva, NY 14456 — Finger Lakes region (New York nursing jobs, travel nurse, ER nurse)
- Role: Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) / Acute Care / Travel Nurse
Job Requirements (Travel Nurse Requirements)
- Active New York RN license (required for travel RN in NY)
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Stroke Certification (AHA or RQI required)
- Minimum 2 years of acute hospital RN experience
- At least 1 year of Emergency Department (ED/ER) experience as an RN
- NIHSS certification preferred
Responsibilities — Emergency Nursing / Acute Care
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care to patients and families in the Emergency Department (ED/ER)
- Perform rapid triage, primary and secondary assessments, and prioritize urgent and emergent care
- Provide direct interventions, including invasive and non-invasive procedures, resuscitation, and acute care treatments for life-threatening and routine emergencies
- Communicate clearly with patients and families during triage and throughout the ED stay; establish rapport and provide frequent updates
- Document assessments, clinical findings, and interventions accurately in the patient record
- Assess psychosocial, emotional, and cultural needs for patients of all age groups and tailor care accordingly
- Promote teamwork, mutual respect, and collaboration among interdisciplinary staff to support optimal patient outcomes
- Provide patient and family education on post-emergency care, discharge instructions, and home care needs
- Maintain compliance with infection prevention strategies, safety protocols, and public health standards
- Support a healing environment and keep patients and families informed and engaged throughout their ED stay
