Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,730 – $1,860
- Position: Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) / Travel Respiratory Therapist
- Location: Leading hospital, Asheville, NC 28801 (Asheville, North Carolina)
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12 Hour Nights (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Number of Openings: 9
- Weekend Requirement: At least 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT); travel respiratory therapy or hospital/critical care experience preferred
- Active North Carolina Respiratory License (NC)
- RRT credential (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; NRP preferred
- Experience with ventilator management, mechanical ventilation, and advanced airway skills
- Ability to float to all critical care units and medical-surgical floors
- Cerner EMR documentation experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care to adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients in a busy hospital environment (ICU, PCU, ED, and floors)
- Manage mechanical ventilation and non-invasive ventilation; demonstrate competency with ventilator setup and titration
- Operate advanced respiratory equipment including GE R860 adult vents, Draeger infant/peds vents, Newport HT70 transport vent, V60 non-invasive device, Vapotherm, and Comfort Flow high flow systems
- Perform typical respiratory procedures and interventions per unit protocols (ABGs, airway management, suctioning, oxygen therapy, high-flow nasal cannula)
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care
- Document patient care and interventions accurately in Cerner EMR
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, guidelines, and dress code (Medium Gray/Pewter scrubs)
