Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of critical care respiratory therapy experience; Level 1 Trauma experience required
• NICU experience required (Level 3 NICU)
• Travel RT experience required (travel respiratory therapist preferred)
• Draeger ventilator experience required; ventilator management and ventilator weaning experience highly preferred
• Valid Connecticut Respiratory Care Practitioner license (CRT or RRT)
• BLS certification required; ACLS, NRP, PALS, CPFT preferred
• Epic electronic charting system experience required
• Must be willing to float between campuses as needed
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Local candidates (within 75 miles) not accepted
• 1 professional reference required; travel-ready documentation preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy and airway management to neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics in acute care and trauma settings
• Deliver advanced care in Level 3 NICU and Level 1 Trauma units as a critical care respiratory therapist
• Operate and troubleshoot Draeger ventilators and other advanced respiratory equipment
• Float to NICU, pediatric, and adult critical care units as clinical needs dictate
• Assist in high-risk deliveries, neonatal transports, and emergency airway procedures
• Perform procedures including intubation, extubation, arterial blood gas collection, chest physiotherapy, and ventilator weaning
• Administer respiratory medications and evaluate patient response
• Educate and orient students and new hires; support clinical training when needed
• Document patient care accurately using Epic charting system
