Join a dynamic surgical team in the heart of Boston, Massachusetts (zip code 02215). This travel nursing job places you in a fast-paced Level I Trauma Surgery operating room where perioperative nursing skills, surgical expertise, and teamwork make a direct impact on patient outcomes.
Job Details – Travel OR RN | Boston, Massachusetts
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,700 – $2,840
- Location: Boston, MA 02215 (West Main campus; may float to East or CVI OR)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM), with up to 2 weekends/month (call or working shifts)
- On-Call: 30-minute response time required; short call shift once a week (3:00 AM – 7:00 AM or 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM)
- Setting: Inpatient Level I Trauma Surgery, 10 operating rooms

Job Requirements – OR RN / Perioperative Nurse
- Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room RN experience (perioperative/surgical nurse experience required)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
- BLS certification required
- Scrub and/or circulate experience across general surgery, robotics, transplants, ortho, neuro, spine, ENT (primarily head & neck), GYN, urology, organ procurement, and trauma
- Ability to respond to on-call within 30 minutes
- Travelers must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
- Must not have worked at Beth Israel Lahey Health as perm or per diem within the last six months
- Preferred: CNOR or perioperative certification (preferred but not required)
Responsibilities – Surgical Nurse / OR RN
- Circulate and/or scrub for a broad range of surgical procedures including bariatric, neurosurgery, ENT, orthopedic trauma, spine, major plastic reconstruction, robotic surgery, and kidney/liver transplants
- Provide patient-centered care in a fast-paced Level I Trauma OR environment as a perioperative/surgical nurse
- Participate in call rotations and scheduled short call shifts
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (surgeons, anesthesiology, surgical techs) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, infection control, and surgical safety protocols
- Float to other OR units as needed to support surgical services
