Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,030 – $2,190
- Location: Boston, Massachusetts (zip 02215) – Boston surgical tech jobs, Massachusetts OR jobs
- Setting: Inpatient Level I Trauma Surgery, West Main OR (10 operating rooms)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 18, 2026) – Travel contract assignment
- Shift: 10-hour day shifts (7:00am – 5:30pm), primarily days with evening rotations
- Hours: 40 hours per week; guaranteed 72 hours biweekly
- Weekend/Call: Up to 2 weekends/month (call or working shifts); short call shift once a week
- Employment Type: Travel Contract – Travel surgical tech, travel operating room tech
Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent Surgical Tech experience in a hospital operating room (perioperative/OR experience)
- Transplant, trauma, and neuro experience required; experience with ortho, ENT, general surgery, robotics, and kidney transplants strongly preferred
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) and NBSTSA verification
- BLS certification required
- Must not reside within 50 miles of the facility (no local travelers)
- Must be separated from Beth Israel Lahey Health for at least 6 months if previously employed
Responsibilities
- Scrub and assist in a wide variety of surgical procedures including bariatric, neurosurgery, ENT (head & neck), orthopedic trauma, spine, major plastic reconstruction, robotic surgery, and kidney/liver transplants
- Maintain sterile field, adherence to sterile technique, and proper instrument handling in the Operating Room
- Prepare and check instrumentation, implants, supplies, and surgical trays to support efficient OR workflow
- Collaborate with surgeons, perioperative nurses, and OR staff to deliver high-quality patient care in a Level I Trauma setting
- Respond to call shifts as scheduled with a 30-minute response time required
- Participate in weekly orientation and comply with all facility policies and credentialing requirements
- Primarily based on West Main campus; floating not required
