- Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Unit: Med/Surg – Ortho & Neuro (35 beds)
- Patient Ratio: 1:6 (typical night shift)
- Travel Requirement: Must live at least 50 miles from facility (50-mile radius rule)
- Scrub Color: Any (no logos)
- Documentation System: EPIC (recent EPIC charting experience required)
- Orientation: 20 hours onsite

Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience, including ortho and neurology patient care
- Recent EPIC charting experience (within last 6 months) — EPIC proficiency preferred
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state of practice)
- BLS required; NIHSS required (assistance available for NIHSS)
- Experience with pre/post neurosurgery, trauma, joint replacement, telemetry monitoring, and medical-surgical care
- Ability to float to units of equal or lesser acuity
- First-time travel nurses accepted — ideal for travel nursing jobs and registered nurse jobs in Texas
- Must meet 50-mile radius rule for travel assignment
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality Med/Surg nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a 35-bed unit
- Manage patient assignments at a 1:6 ratio during night shifts
- Care for orthopedic, neurology, and medical-surgical patients, including pre/post neurosurgery and joint replacement care
- Assess and manage patients with trauma, substance withdrawal, and complex medical-surgical needs
- Monitor telemetry (centralized unit) and respond to changes in patient condition
- Document accurately and efficiently using EPIC electronic health records
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy (PT), respiratory therapy (RT), pharmacy, social services, and rapid response
- Participate in orientation, complete required onsite modules, and engage in unit-based teamwork
- Float to other units of equal/lesser acuity as needed to support patient care
