Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,580 - $1,670
• Location: Tyler, TX 75701 — East Texas travel nurse opportunity
• Setting: Med/Surg Orthopedic Unit (36 rooms)
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 20, 2026)
• Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Coverage: Half of scheduled shifts
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Charting/EHR: Epic (experience preferred)
• Travel Experience: Travel nursing experience preferred

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in Med/Surg or Orthopedic nursing (Orthopedic RN, Med/Surg RN)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the U.S.
• BLS certification required
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Must not currently reside in the following Texas counties: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality orthopedic nursing care across adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
• Manage patient assignments at a 1:6 ratio and float to other units as needed
• Document patient care and assessments accurately using Epic
• Perform and manage orthopedic perioperative care including pre-/post-thoracic surgery and total joint replacement
• Provide trauma care, wound care, IV therapy, PCA management, and medication administration
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams: Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Pharmacy, and Social Services
• Participate in rapid response/code teams and follow isolation precautions/PPE protocols
• Complete onsite orientation modules and work scheduled weekends
