Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,580 - $1,670
- Location: Tyler, TX 75701 — East Texas travel nurse opportunity
- Setting: Med/Surg Orthopedic Unit (36 rooms)
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 20, 2026)
- Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:00)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Coverage: Half of scheduled shifts
- Patient Ratio: 1:6
- Charting/EHR: Epic (experience preferred)
- Travel Experience: Travel nursing experience preferred
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in Med/Surg or Orthopedic nursing (Orthopedic RN, Med/Surg RN)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the U.S.
- BLS certification required
- ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
- Experience with Epic charting system preferred
- Travel nursing experience preferred
- Must not currently reside in the following Texas counties: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality orthopedic nursing care across adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
- Manage patient assignments at a 1:6 ratio and float to other units as needed
- Document patient care and assessments accurately using Epic
- Perform and manage orthopedic perioperative care including pre-/post-thoracic surgery and total joint replacement
- Provide trauma care, wound care, IV therapy, PCA management, and medication administration
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams: Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Pharmacy, and Social Services
- Participate in rapid response/code teams and follow isolation precautions/PPE protocols
- Complete onsite orientation modules and work scheduled weekends
