PICU RN Travel Nurse – Charleston, SC (13-week). Seeking an experienced Pediatric ICU Registered Nurse with PALS, BLS, and EPIC experience for nights at a Level I Trauma Center. - Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,640 – $1,730

- Facility: Level I Trauma Center • Teaching Facility • Magnet Hospital
- Unit: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) — 28 beds
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 20, 2026)
- Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
- Patient Ratios: 1:1, 1:2, 1:3 (mixed ICU and Stepdown patients)
- Charting / EMR: EPIC
Pediatric ICU RN Requirements
- Minimum 1 year PICU RN experience required (2 years preferred) — Pediatric ICU nurse / critical care nurse
- Active South Carolina RN license or Multi-State/Compact RN license
- BLS and PALS certifications (AHA only)
- Experience with ECMO and CRRT preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Familiarity with EPIC charting system preferred
- Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, family-centered care to pediatric patients (ages 0–18) with diverse medical and surgical diagnoses
- Manage ventilatory and cardiac support including ECMO/CRRT, renal/peritoneal dialysis, and other advanced therapies
- Perform critical procedures and advanced monitoring: central line care, intubation support, wound management, medication administration
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams (respiratory therapy, dietitians, pharmacy, rapid response teams) to optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in EPIC (electronic medical record)
- Participate in emergency response teams and seasonal preparedness (hurricane season June–November)
- Float to other units as needed while staying within scope of practice
