Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,680 – $1,770
• Location: Roanoke Rapids, NC (27870) — Roanoke Rapids travel nurse, North Carolina nursing jobs
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 19, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts (weekends only)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit: Medical-Surgical (36 beds) — Medical-Surgical RN, Med/Surg nursing
• Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
• Employment Type: Travel (Travel Nurse, Travel Registered Nurse)

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina or Compact state (Registered Nurse)
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg RN experience (medical-surgical nursing)
• Proficient IV insertion skills and medication administration
• Ability to assist providers with bedside procedures
• Travel nursing experience preferred (travel nurse jobs)
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Compliance with 80-mile radius rule and willingness to float to other nursing areas as needed
• Strong teamwork, clinical judgment, and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to general Med/Surg patients including COPD, renal failure, sepsis, pneumonia, diabetes, stroke, and post-op conditions
• Perform and assist with procedures: wound VAC management, thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube care, tracheostomy care, and central line support
• Administer medications including Heparin, Lasix, Coumadin, cardiac meds, insulin, and TPN/PPN per hospital protocols
• Use clinical equipment such as Alaris IV pumps, feeding pumps, SCD machines, and glucose meters
• Document accurately and efficiently in EPIC and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and ancillary staff
• Support a safe, patient-centered environment and adapt to changing census demands
