- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,150 - $2,310
- Location: Tulsa, OK 74136 (Tulsa County) — local imaging jobs, Oklahoma MRI jobs
- Setting: Hospital – Non-Invasive Cardiology & Outpatient Cardiac Rehab (Diagnostic Imaging)
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (5/31/2026 – 8/28/2026)
- Shift: Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM – 10:00 PM (8-hour evening shifts, no call)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Employment Type: Travel MRI Technologist / Contract
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year MRI technologist experience required (2 years preferred); cardiac MRI experience is a plus
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI accredited program
- Certification or registration from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to MRI
- Proven ability to organize and prioritize workload in a busy hospital imaging department
- Experience with PACS, image post-processing, and image quality control preferred
Responsibilities
- Operate MRI equipment to produce high-quality cross-sectional and cardiac images for diagnostic purposes
- Prepare and position patients for MRI procedures, ensuring patient comfort, safety, and proper screening for implants/metal
- Set up MRI equipment and monitoring devices for optimal imaging (including cardiac monitoring when applicable)
- Perform and document quality control tests; identify and report equipment discrepancies
- Collect and evaluate relevant examination information from scheduling, patients, and referring physicians
- Process, manipulate, and display images for physician review; send images to PACS and verify exam completeness
- Maintain departmental records, accurate patient documentation, and proper charge capture for exams and supplies
- Respond to patient physical and psychological needs; communicate procedures clearly and provide compassionate patient care
- Follow MRI safety protocols and screening procedures to minimize risk and ensure compliance
- Collaborate with radiologists, cardiology staff, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to support diagnostic workflows
- Exercise independent judgment in planning and executing MRI procedures and troubleshooting imaging challenges
