Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940 – $2,040
- Location: Columbus, Ohio 43210 (Columbus travel nurse / Ohio nursing jobs)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 4, 2026 – August 3, 2026)
- Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:30); schedule may include days, nights, or combination based on department needs
- Hours per Week: 36
- Patient Population: Adults
- Unit: SICU / Oncology (CC96101 | J12 SICU/NCCU ONCOLOGY)
- Position Type: Travel RN / Travel nursing contract (Surgical ICU RN / Critical Care RN)
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience within the last 3 years (at least 1 year current specialty experience in SICU/Critical Care)
- Epic charting system experience required (Epic ICU documentation)
- Oncology experience preferred (SICU/Oncology crossover experience a plus)
- Previous travel RN experience required (travel nurse assignments)
- Active RN license: compact or Ohio RN license in hand at time of submission
- Graduated from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
- Two professional references (one must be manager/director or formal leadership; Charge RN acceptable for second reference)
Key Responsibilities (SICU / Critical Care RN)
- Provide high-level, evidence-based care to critically ill adult patients with diagnoses such as hemorrhagic/hypovolemic shock, sepsis/septic shock, pneumonia, ARDS, craniotomy, ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, intracranial hypertension, and delirium
- Manage and monitor advanced therapies and procedures: External Ventricular Drain (EVD) management, ICP monitoring, Massive Transfusion Protocol, Mechanical Ventilation, Heated High Flow, BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy care, CRRT, and vasopressor titration
- Perform complex ICU nursing tasks including ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and titration of critical care medications
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (IV Teams, PT, Respiratory Therapy, Radiology, Social Work, Rapid Response, Pharmacy) to optimize patient outcomes
- Float as needed to James MICU, UH MICU/SICU, M/S, or PCU units to support staffing needs
- Maintain infection prevention and isolation precautions and follow hospital safety protocols
- Utilize Epic for accurate, timely charting and documentation of patient care
