Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active RN license in the United States (state-specific license as required); nursing certification required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in psychiatric, behavioral health, or mental health nursing (Adult Psych Unit experience preferred)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
• Strong communication, de-escalation, and therapeutic interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary behavioral health team
• Documentation proficiency and experience with electronic medical records (EMR) a plus

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric nursing care to adult patients on the psychiatric unit
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and monitor clinical progress
• Administer psychotropic and other medications safely and as prescribed; monitor for therapeutic response and side effects
• Implement crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to promote a safe, therapeutic environment
• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care
• Maintain accurate patient records, complete medication administration records (MAR), and document nursing notes in the EMR
• Provide patient and family education related to diagnosis, treatment plans, discharge planning, and community resources
