• Shift: Rotating shifts (Days/Nights), Every Other Weekend, 3 x 12-hour shifts per week

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the required state (or compact RN license where applicable)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient adolescent psychiatric experience (ages 14–17) — behavioral health nursing experience required
• De-escalation training/certification required (SAFE Training Course available onsite if needed)
• Ability to float to Geriatric and Adult Behavioral Health units as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Psychiatric-Mental Health certification or prior PMH-RN experience
• Experience with crisis intervention, suicide risk assessment, and therapeutic milieu
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems used in inpatient psychiatry

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric nursing care to adolescent patients in an inpatient behavioral health setting
• Participate in the management of clinical activities and uphold the philosophy, goals, and standards of the Department of Nursing
• Direct staffing and scheduling, supervise employees, and coordinate orientation and educational needs of the staff as required
• Maintain positive interdisciplinary relationships and represent the Nursing Department in patient- and family-centered care
• Float to Geriatric and Adult Behavioral Health units as needed to support the continuum of behavioral health services
