• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,820 – $1,910
• Location: Dyer, Indiana (46311) — Northwest Indiana / Chicago-area travel nurse opportunity
• Facility: Modern 30-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit (cardiac telemetry, acute care)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 6, 2026 – July 6, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00–07:30), every other weekend required
• Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed)

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active RN license (compact or Indiana RN license as applicable)
• BLS (American Heart Association) required
• NIH Stroke certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Telemetry (Med/Surg Tele) experience; Telemetry RN or Cardiac Telemetry experience preferred
• Experience with Epic or similar EMR systems (Epic EMR)
• Familiarity with Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication machines
• CAPD (peritoneal dialysis) experience preferred
• Strong teamwork, communication, and clinical monitoring skills in a fast-paced acute care setting
• Adherence to facility dress code (dark navy blue scrubs; no facial piercings, hoodies, or artificial nails in clinical areas)
• Schedule flexibility and willingness to follow assigned holiday rotation

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with diagnoses such as chest pain, stroke, CHF, CKD, COPD, failure to thrive, alcohol withdrawal, sickle cell crisis, cellulitis, and sepsis
• Continuous cardiac telemetry monitoring and accurate interpretation of telemetry data
• Administer medications via Pyxis and manage IV therapy using Alaris pumps
• Document patient care and clinical assessments in Epic EMR in a timely manner
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (physicians, case managers, respiratory therapists) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Float to similar units within the facility as needed (Med/Surg, Telemetry, Step-Down)
• Maintain patient satisfaction and safety as top priorities while delivering compassionate, evidence-based care
