Job Details — Endoscopy / GI Lab Travel RN
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,750 - $1,840
- Setting: Acute Care Hospital – Endoscopy / GI Lab (Endoscopy Nurse, GI Nurse)
- Location: Orangeburg, SC 29118 — Orangeburg, South Carolina (South Carolina nursing jobs, Orangeburg SC travel nursing)
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (April 21, 2026 – July 21, 2026)
- Shift: Day Shift, 5x8-Hour (06:00 - 14:30)
- Hours Per Week: 40
- Patient Ratio: 1:1
- Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend, plus weekend call
- Orientation: 16 hours
- Charting: Epic (Epic charting experience required)
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue
- Parking: Free
Required Qualifications — Endoscopy RN / Travel RN
- Minimum 2 years of Endoscopy RN experience required (GI Lab experience preferred)
- Travel RN experience required — first-time travelers not accepted
- Active South Carolina RN license or Compact RN license (must be in hand prior to start)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Experience with Epic charting system required
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
Key Responsibilities — Endoscopy Nurse / GI Registered Nurse
- Provide direct patient care in the Endoscopy/GI Lab, including pre-procedure assessment, intra-procedure assistance, and post-procedure recovery
- Assist with advanced procedures: bronchoscopies, ERCPs, tracheostomy care, and PEG tube placements
- Operate and troubleshoot specialized endoscopy/GI equipment (lithotripters, endobronchial ultrasound, balloon dilators, forceps, polyp snares)
- Administer and monitor conscious sedation and anesthesia care in accordance with facility policies
- Obtain and interpret 12-lead EKG/ECG and monitor patients during procedural sedation
- Start and maintain IVs, manage airway support, and ensure safe recovery from sedation
- Accurately label specimens and complete documentation in Epic (procedural and peri-procedural charting)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, rapid response, OR, and transport services
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide weekend coverage as required
