Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room nursing experience (ER RN or emergency nursing background)
• Active Wisconsin RN license (compact license accepted if applicable)
• RN education verification and current credentials
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS certifications
• TNCC or TNS certification required
• Strong critical thinking, triage, and communication skills
• Prior travel nurse experience and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Perform rapid triage, initial assessments, and ongoing monitoring of ER patients
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved policies and protocols
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the medical record (EHR)
• Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient care plans, including patient and family education
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, respiratory therapy, lab, radiology) to coordinate patient care
• Participate in department performance improvement, unit practice activities, and peer review
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments as needed to support patient safety and quality care
• Escalate safety concerns and advocate for positive patient experience using critical thinking and clinical judgment
