• Role: Inpatient Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (WOCN) / Wound Care RN (Travel)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: April 27, 2026 (or ASAP)
• Shift: Days, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (5x8-hour shifts, 40 hours/week)
• Weekends: Not required
• Holidays: Required as scheduled
• On-call: Not required
• Floating: May be required within specialty to downtown campus
• Patient Age Range: All age groups (pediatric to geriatric)
• Average Census: ~15 visits per day

Wound Care RN Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of recent wound care RN experience in inpatient wound care or acute care settings
• Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license (required)
• BLS certification (AHA only)
• Wound Care Certification (WCC) required — WOCN certification preferred
• Epic electronic health record (EHR) charting experience preferred
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Comfortable floating within specialty as needed across downtown Baltimore units
• Two satisfactory professional references from most recent employers (1 supervisor/manager and 1 charge RN)
• Permanent residence must be at least 50 miles from facility (travel nurse requirement)

Key Responsibilities — Wound Care Nurse / WOCN

• Provide expert wound, ostomy, and continence care for patients across all age groups as an inpatient wound care RN
• Round with the WOCN team on 4–5 units daily, managing an average of 15 patients per day
• Assess, manage, and treat pressure injuries, chronic and acute wounds, and ostomies using evidence-based wound care practices
• Perform advanced wound care procedures including negative pressure wound therapy (wound vac), sharp debridement (as allowed by facility policy), and ostomy management
• Educate patients, families, and bedside staff on wound and ostomy care, continence management, and prevention strategies
• Utilize risk assessment tools (Braden scale, adult/pediatric scales) and document wound progress and prevention plans
• Document care and progress accurately in Epic EHR and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes
