Travel ER Registered Nurse opportunity in Indianapolis, IN — 13-week nights contract in a high-acuity 65-bed Emergency Department (ED). Join our team and advance your emergency nursing career in Indiana. This travel nurse position is ideal for ER RNs with strong critical care and trauma experience.
Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1800 - $1890 (competitive travel nurse pay)
- Location: Indianapolis, IN 46237 — Indianapolis healthcare / travel nurse position
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 6, 2026 – July 6, 2026)
- Shift: 12 Hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) — night shift travel nurse
- Hours per Week: 36
- Schedule: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
- Setting: Emergency Department (65 beds) — Emergency Room (ER), Emergency Department (ED), acute care, trauma-capable
- Employment Type: Travel
Job Requirements (ER RN / Emergency Department Nurse)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room nursing experience in a large ED — experience with high-acuity and trauma patients preferred
- Active RN license (compact license accepted where applicable) — Indiana RN license required if not compact
- Required Certifications: ACLS, PALS, BLS, TNCC
- Strong critical thinking, triage and resuscitation skills; ability to adapt to fluctuating patient volume
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred — documentation and charting proficiency
- Ability to float according to skill set and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients in the Emergency Department — assessment, triage, and acute care interventions
- Manage patient ratios: Shock 2:1, Core 4:1, Psych 3:1, Exam 6:1
- Perform crisis and trauma care including rapid assessment, airway management, medication administration, and resuscitation
- Utilize equipment such as Alaris Pumps, Philips Monitors, and Belmont Rapid Infuser
- Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR and follow facility policies for charting and handoffs
- Collaborate with physicians, ED techs, social work, and other multidisciplinary team members in a fast-paced environment
- Adhere to facility dress code (Navy Blue scrubs) and professional standards of practice
