• Job Title: Travel Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – Hospital
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,920 – $2,060
• Location: On-site in Hondo, TX (zip 78861) — Texas SLP job
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 20, 2026)
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8-hour days (start time between 6AM and 10AM; flexible with Director of Rehab)
• Hours per Week: 40

Required Qualifications

• Active ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) and current Texas SLP licensure
• Minimum 1 year of SLP experience; rehab or long-term care (LTC) experience required
• New graduates considered with Level II clinical experience (beyond Level I observation)
• Experience assessing and treating dysphagia (swallowing disorders), aphasia, apraxia, cognitive-communication disorders preferred
• Ability to supervise and support CFY clinicians and SLP students
• Adherence to ASHA and Texas practice acts, code of conduct, and clinical ethics
• Professional references required at time of submission

Primary Responsibilities

• Screen, evaluate, and provide treatment for patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders using evidence-based practice
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care for inpatient hospital SLP caseloads
• Administer standardized assessments and perform clinical swallow evaluations and instrumental assessments as appropriate
• Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and document outcomes in the electronic medical record
• Provide education, counseling, and discharge planning for patients, families, and caregivers
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (physicians, nurses, PT/OT, dietitians) regarding patient status and care plans
• Prepare accurate discharge summaries, therapy notes, and required documentation to meet regulatory and clinical standards
• Order and obtain necessary DME and therapeutic supplies per facility protocols
• Participate in in-services, trainings, team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives
