ICU Travel Nurse Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,460 - $1,540
• Location: Austin, Texas (78704) — a leading hospital in Austin, TX
• Setting: 20-bed Intensive Care Unit (Adult ICU)
• Position: Travel Registered Nurse (RN), Critical Care / ICU
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts per schedule (Fri/Sat/Sun)
• Start Date: March 23, 2026
• On-Call: No on-call required

ICU Registered Nurse (RN) Requirements

• Active RN license in Texas (required)
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU / critical care experience
• Strong skills in cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• Proficiency with titratable drips and hemodynamic assessment
• Experience caring for respiratory patients (mechanical ventilation, BiPAP, tracheostomies, Airvo)
• BLS certification (AHA)
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Preferred: Experience with CRRT (Prismax) and SLED (Tablo)

ICU Nurse Responsibilities / Critical Care Duties

• Provide high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill adult patients in a 20-bed ICU
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, manage titratable drips, and assess hemodynamics
• Care for patients requiring advanced respiratory support (ventilators, BiPAP, tracheostomies)
• Assist with and support procedures including central line and chest tube insertion, bronchoscopies, tracheostomies, lumbar punctures, and intubation
• Use bedside technology: GE monitors, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication systems, Prismax CRRT, Tablo SLED, and Meditech EMR
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to unit policies, patient safety protocols, and infection control standards
• Foster a positive, adaptable, and team-oriented work environment focused on patient-centered care
