Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,650 - $2,790
• Location: Lamar, CO 81052 — southeastern Colorado travel nursing opportunity
• Setting: New Beginnings Birth Center – Obstetrics Unit (Labor & Delivery)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 20, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Employment Type: Travel, Full-Time (Travel RN / L&D RN)

Job Requirements (Labor & Delivery RN / Obstetrics Nurse)

• Current Colorado RN license (required for this Lamar, CO travel nursing job)
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Current CPR certification
• Neonatal Resuscitation Certification and ACLS (must obtain within one year of employment)
• Minimum 1 year of obstetrics or labor & delivery experience (4 years preferred)
• Knowledge of labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care essentials (OB nurse / maternity nurse skills)
• Ability to perform effectively in high-stress clinical situations
• Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills for collaboration with the multidisciplinary birth center team

Responsibilities (L&D RN / Maternity Nurse)

• Provide direct patient care to women in labor, through delivery, postpartum, and newborn care
• Perform assessments, monitor labor progress, and prepare for C-sections and inductions
• Document nursing care accurately and thoroughly in the medical record
• Administer care during labor, delivery, and postpartum including infant care, lactation support, and patient education
• Prepare delivery rooms, assist with procedures, and provide emotional support to patients and families
• Coordinate patient transfers and collaborate with physicians, midwives, and the Birth Center Manager
• Administer IV medications, follow medication safety protocols, and adhere to infection control principles
• Maintain competency in neonatal resuscitation and emergency obstetric interventions
