- Position: Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Psychiatric Services / Crisis Psychiatric Unit (Travel)
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 – $2,130
- Location: Lewiston, Maine (Lewiston, ME 04240) — Maine nursing jobs / travel nursing jobs
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour days (7:00am – 7:00pm)
- Hours per Week: 36

Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of mental health / psychiatric nursing experience (psychiatric RN experience preferred)
- Valid State of Maine RN license (Maine RN license required)
- BLS certification from AHA (required)
- Current CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training required prior to start
- Associate's degree in Nursing (minimum); BSN preferred
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills for multidisciplinary care
- Ability to manage stress, de-escalate situations, and make sound decisions under pressure (crisis intervention skills)
- Flexibility to provide coverage 24/7 as needed for emergency psychiatric services
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of Lewiston, ME
- Candidates with licensure hits will not be considered
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process across assigned areas in Emergency Psychiatric Services
- Develop, implement, and periodically update individualized, interdisciplinary plans of care
- Assess and evaluate patient outcomes; identify and coordinate available resources and referrals
- Deliver care for psychiatric conditions including major depression, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorders, psychotic disorders, and detoxification needs
- Perform crisis intervention, safety assessments, and therapeutic interventions appropriate for emergency psychiatry
- Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, social workers, therapists, and the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and secure environment for patients, families, and staff
