ICU Registered Nurse (RN) – 13-week travel nurse assignment in Chattanooga, TN 37404; cardiac critical care experience and ACLS/BLS required. Join a dedicated critical care team in a Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) at a leading medical center near Chattanooga's scenic riverfront.
Travel Nurse Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,570 – $1,650
- Location: Chattanooga, TN 37404 — Chattanooga healthcare jobs, Tennessee nursing jobs
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (April 27, 2026 – July 27, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Unit: Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU), 12 beds — critical care RN / ICU nurse role
- Patient Ratio: 1 RN : 2 patients (may vary with acuity)
- Documentation System: Meditech
- Dress Code: Navy scrubs
Job Requirements — ICU Travel Nurse
- Active RN license (TN license or Compact/Multi-state preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience; cardiac critical care required
- ACLS and BLS certifications required; CCRN strongly preferred
- Ability to care for post-open heart patients (minimum 1–2 days postop)
- Experience with Impella heart pump and CRRT preferred
- Willingness to float to PCU/Medical-Surgical units as needed
ICU Registered Nurse (RN) Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based care to critically ill patients in the SICU as a critical care RN / ICU nurse
- Perform advanced procedures including intubations, CRRT, and hemodynamic monitoring
- Utilize advanced critical care equipment (Impella, Hemosphere monitoring platform)
- Respond to rapid response and code blue situations as part of the multidisciplinary critical care team
- Maintain clear communication with patients and families, explaining care plans and medications
- Participate in flexible scheduling, including a minimum of 3 weekend shifts per month
- Ensure timely response to patient needs and call lights while documenting care in Meditech
