Seeking an experienced Surgical ICU Registered Nurse (RN) travel nurse in Columbus, OH — 13-week night-shift travel contract. Must have 2+ years recent ICU experience, Ohio RN licensure, ACLS and BLS.

Job Details
- Position: Surgical ICU Registered Nurse (SICU RN) / Travel Nurse
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940 - $2,040
- Location: Surgical ICU, University Hospital, Columbus, OH 43210 (Level I trauma & burn center)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 4, 2026 – August 3, 2026)
- Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Schedule: Every other weekend required
- Parking: Multiple affordable, convenient options for travel nurses
- Ideal Candidates: Critical care nurses with Surgical ICU, Trauma ICU, Burn ICU, or Transplant ICU experience
Job Requirements (SICU RN / Travel Nurse)
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience (critical care, SICU, trauma, or transplant preferred)
- Valid Ohio RN license (compact or state license accepted) — Ohio nursing jobs welcome
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- First-time travel nurses accepted — travel RN Columbus, OH opportunities available
- Ability to float to different units within the OSU organization as needed
- 2 professional references required (at least 1 from a manager/director or formal leadership role)
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
Key Responsibilities (SICU / Critical Care RN)
- Provide high-quality critical care to adult and geriatric patients in a Level I trauma and burn center
- Manage multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, complex surgical cases, trauma, transplant, and burn patients
- Perform and monitor invasive procedures: arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, chest tubes, CRRT, ventilators, and wound vacs
- Administer and titrate vasoactive drips, IV insulin protocols, blood products, and continuous IV sedation
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, arterial blood gases (ABGs), and infection prevention protocols
- Utilize Epic EMR for documentation and Pyxis/Accudose/Omnicell for medication management
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and social services
- Participate in daily burn dressings, bedside procedures, and patient transport for imaging
- Maintain strict adherence to isolation precautions, PPE protocols, and hospital safety standards
