Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 – $2,250
- Location: Madison, WI (53792) — Travel RN opportunity in Wisconsin
- Setting: 18-bed Neuroscience ICU
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Travel Contract)
- Start Dates: 4/20/2026, 5/4/2026, or 5/18/2026
- Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:30), every other weekend and some holidays required
- Hours per Week: 36
- Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (Travel RN) — Neuro ICU/Neuroscience ICU
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the past 3 years in ICU/Neuro ICU or neurocritical care
- Experience with ICP monitoring or ventriculostomy (EVD/vent) required
- Epic EMR/charting system experience required
- Basic arrhythmia recognition and telemetry experience required
- Must pass telemetry test prior to start (strict criteria)
- WI RN or compact RN license (must be in hand at submission) — Wisconsin nursing license required
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Previous travel nursing experience required (first-time travelers not accepted)
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
Responsibilities
- Deliver specialized neurocritical care to adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses such as stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, post-neurosurgery, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury
- Perform and manage advanced interventions: hemodynamic monitoring, hypothermia protocol, EVD/vent management, lumbar drains, arterial and central line care, and ventilator management
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, administer emergency medications, and manage IV insulin protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, neurosurgery, and rapid response
- Float to other units as needed based on staffing requirements
- Maintain infection prevention and isolation precautions and follow evidence-based neurocritical care protocols
- Participate in weekend and holiday rotations required for travel nursing assignments
