Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 - $2,130
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Travel Nurse assignment)
- Setting: Intermediate Care Unit (IMU), Cardiac Stepdown / Telemetry
- Shift: 12-hour days (7:00am – 7:00pm), weekends as scheduled
- Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
- Location: Wheeling, WV 26003 — Wheeling, West Virginia / Ohio River region
- Self-scheduling: Allowed with unit needs met; up to 4 requested days off per month
- Charting System: Allscripts EMR
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: Goal is 1:4; typically 1:5; occasionally 1:6 depending on unit needs

Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year recent RN experience in stepdown, cardiac, telemetry, or intermediate care setting (Stepdown RN / Telemetry RN experience required)
- Active RN license (state license or willing to wait for licensure if needed)
- BLS Certification (AHA)
- ACLS Certification
- NIHSS Certification
- Ability to read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips and rhythm interpretation
- Experience titrating cardiac drips (Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetalol, Nitro, Heparin; occasional Lasix)
- Comfortable floating to Telemetry (Tele), MedSurg, or Pandemic units as needed
- Compliance with 50-mile radius rule (must provide unexpired driver’s license upon submission)
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown and intermediate acuity patients as a Cardiac Stepdown RN / Telemetry Nurse
- Continuously monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and manage titratable cardiac drips
- Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, cardiology teams, and interdisciplinary staff to coordinate care
- Perform groin checks, manage radial bands, and provide care for pre/post cath and pacer patients
- Document patient care accurately using Allscripts EMR and follow unit protocols
- Float to other units (Tele/MedSurg/Pandemic Unit) as needed and participate in self-scheduling
- Work required weekend shifts and maintain compliance with attendance and cancellation policies
