- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Rotating with permanent staff
- Department Orientation: 2 days to 1 week
Required Qualifications — Respiratory Therapy
- Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapist experience with extensive ventilator management and ICU/critical care experience
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential via NBRC (CRT may be considered)
- BLS (AHA) and ACLS required; PALS highly preferred
- Comfortable assisting with intubations and emergency airway management
- Strong communication skills, flexibility, and ability to float across hospital units
- Experience with MEDITECH or similar electronic medical record systems preferred
Primary Responsibilities — Respiratory Care / Critical Care
- Manage ventilators and advanced respiratory equipment (Draeger, Vision BiPAP, V60, Puritan Bennett, etc.)
- Perform and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs); draw from A-lines using Epoc machine
- Assist with bronchoscopies, attend codes and rapid response teams
- Set up blenders and humidifiers in L&D; stabilize and transfer pediatric patients when indicated
- Provide oxygen setup and adjustments in the sleep lab as needed
- Float to ICU, ER, L&D, MedSurg, Psych, Recovery Room, and other required units
- Maintain accurate charting in MEDITECH and adhere to hospital documentation standards
- Follow department dress code: black and teal intermix tops and bottoms
