Registered Nurse (RN) – Level IV NICU Travel contract at a leading pediatric hospital in Madison, WI. 2+ years NICU experience (1 year Level IV), Travel RN experience, Epic required. 13-week assignment: 4/20/2026–7/20/2026.
Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 – $2,130
- Location: Madison, WI 53792
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 20, 2026)
- Shift: Night shift, 12 hours (7:00pm – 7:30am), Monday–Friday
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: 2–3 weekends per 6-week period
- Float Requirement: Required to float to all hospital units including PICU for patients under 12 months
- Position Type: Travel RN / Travel Nurse – Neonatal Nurse / NICU RN
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years total NICU III/IV clinical experience, including at least 1 full year in a Level IV NICU within the last 3 years
- Travel RN experience required
- Current Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license (must be in hand at submittal)
- BLS and NRP certifications (AHA required)
- Experience with postoperative patients, g-tubes, trach/vent management, and multiple modes of invasive/noninvasive ventilation
- Epic electronic health record (EHR) charting experience required
- Telemetry competency required (pass/fail testing prior to start)
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-acuity nursing care for critically ill neonates in a 26-bed Level IV NICU (neonatal critical care, pediatric critical care)
- Manage invasive and noninvasive ventilation, tracheostomy care, and g-tube management
- Deliver post-operative care and advanced monitoring for surgical neonates
- Perform thorough neonatal assessments, monitor vital signs, and administer medications including antibiotics, antivirals, and anti-seizure drugs
- Support breastfeeding, bottle feeding, gavage feeds, phototherapy, and isolation precautions
- Conduct sepsis workups, blood glucose monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
- Educate and support families throughout the continuum of care; collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Float to other hospital units as needed to care for infants less than 12 months of age
