Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri (required)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification – required prior to first shift
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification – required prior to first shift
• Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg bedside clinical experience; 2 years preferred
• Experience with night shift workflows, patient triage, and interdisciplinary communication

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized care plans
• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate
• Supervise and collaborate with Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees
• Promote patient and staff safety by adhering to hospital policies, infection control, and safety protocols
• Initiate and coordinate discharge planning, patient education, and transitions of care
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic health record
• Communicate changes in patient status to the interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care
• Support a positive team environment and participate in unit-based initiatives and professional development
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as requested after orientation and based on qualifications
