Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,750 – $1,840 (Competitive travel nurse pay)
- Location: Odessa, TX 79761 (Permian Basin / West Texas)
- Unit: 6W Ortho / Neuro (Medical-Surgical Telemetry)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: April 21, 2026
- End Date: July 21, 2026
- Shift: Night shifts, 12 hours (18:45 – 07:15)
- Hours per Week: 36 (facility may consider alternating 36/48 or straight 48 hours)
- Employment Type: Travel Contract (Travel RN / Travel Nursing Job)
- COVID-19 Vaccine: Not Required
- Flu Vaccine: Required (medical/religious exemptions and declinations allowed)
- Local candidates: Candidates within 50 miles are not accepted
Travel RN Requirements / Qualifications
- Active Texas RN license (required)
- BLS certification (AHA preferred)
- NIHSS certification
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; med/surg telemetry experience preferred
- Travel nursing experience strongly preferred (Travel RN experience)
- Cerner charting experience preferred
- Must be willing to float to other Med/Surg/Telemetry units as assigned
- Resume submission required to be considered
Med/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients on the unit
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, and accurately document care in the EMR (Cerner preferred)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—including physicians, therapists, and support staff—to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Float to other Med/Surg and Telemetry units as needed to support staffing needs
- Manage patient assignments and ratios up to 6:1 while maintaining patient safety and standards of care
- Adhere to facility policies, procedures, and compliance requirements for telemetry nursing and med/surg care
