- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,360 – $2,480 (competitive travel nursing pay)
- Location: New Brunswick, NJ 08901 — New Jersey nursing jobs / Central New Jersey
- Setting: Cardio Thoracic ICU (CVICU/SICU-E) — cardiac intensive care unit
- Contract Duration: 12 weeks (travel nurse assignment)
- Start Date: April 20, 2026
- Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Employment Type: Travel (travel nursing opportunity)
- Patient Ratio: 1:1–2 (may vary if floated)
- Weekend/Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend and holiday required
Job Requirements (ICU RN / Critical Care Nurse)
- Minimum 2 years of current CVICU experience (SICU experience may be considered with initial CVICU training)
- Active NJ or Compact RN License (required at time of submission)
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (required at time of submission)
- Stroke CEUs
- Experience with devices such as Impella, IABP, and CRRT using Prismax OR fresh open heart cases
- Proficiency in Epic charting system (preferred)
- Previous charge experience (preferred)
- Ability to float to all ICUs, PACU, ED ICU holds, and IMC units as needed
- References required
Core Responsibilities (Cardiac ICU / CVICU Travel Nurse)
- Provide expert care for fresh open heart patients (CABG, MVR, AVR, TAVR) as a CVICU RN
- Manage ventilated patients, chest tubes, lumbar drains, and renal failure cases
- Utilize advanced hemodynamic monitoring and devices: Swan Ganz, Flotrack, Temp Pacers, Alines, Impella, IABP, CRRT (Prismax)
- Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips; manage complex infusion therapy
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, perform and interpret ABGs, and complete 12-lead EKG/ECG
- Care for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure and high acuity needs
- Float to other units as required, adapting to patient acuity and census across ICU, PACU, and IMC
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including PT, RT, pharmacy, and social services for coordinated care
- Maintain infection prevention, isolation precautions, and high standards of critical care nursing
- Participate in orientation and ongoing training modules (including Epic) as part of travel nursing onboarding
