Join a leading medical center in downtown Baltimore, MD (21201) for a 12-week PACU travel nursing assignment. Work in a state-of-the-art 28-bay Main PACU providing peri-anesthesia (post-anesthesia) care across the lifespan. - Position: PACU Registered Nurse (RN) / Peri-Anesthesia Nurse – Travel Nurse
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1850 - $1950
- Contract Length: 12 weeks
- Start Date: April 27, 2026
- Facility / Setting: Main PACU, 28 bays, 24/7 coverage (acute care, post-anesthesia care unit)
- Shift: Rotating Day (07:00–19:00) and Night (19:30–07:30), 3x12-hour shifts/week
- Hours per Week: 36
- Patient Ratio: 1:2 typical PACU ratio
- Weekend Coverage: 3 weekend shifts per 4-week period
- On-Call: 1–2 twelve-hour call shifts per 6-week schedule
- Floating: Required within specialty and sister facilities (acute care float)
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years PACU RN experience (post-anesthesia care unit / peri-anesthesia nurse)
- Previous charge nurse experience required
- Travel nursing experience required (travel RN)
- Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license
- BLS and ACLS (AHA only) required
- PALS and NIHSS certifications preferred
- Epic charting system experience preferred
- Comfortable caring for neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
- Ability to float to other units and sister facilities as needed
- References: 2 professional references from most recent employers (1 supervisor/manager and 1 charge RN)
- Locals: must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide vigilant pre- and post-operative care to inpatients and outpatients undergoing scheduled or emergency surgery (post-anesthesia care)
- Titrate vasopressors, manage advanced airways, care for ventilated patients, administer blood products, and perform fluid resuscitation
- Assess and monitor patients across the lifespan and acuity spectrum in the PACU
- Collaborate with 20+ surgical and procedural services for broad clinical exposure and professional development
- Participate in scheduled weekend, holiday, and on-call coverage
- Float to other units and sister facilities within scope of practice when required
- Maintain compliance with facility protocols, including required flu vaccination (no exemptions)
