Join the heart of Illinois healthcare as a Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in cardiac and pulmonary care. This 13-week travel nurse contract in Springfield, IL (62769) places you on a busy Cardiac/Pulmonary (Telemetry) unit where you'll work with a collaborative team to deliver high-quality patient care. Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,090 – $2,200
- Location: Springfield, Illinois (62769) — Springfield, IL nursing jobs / Illinois travel nurse opportunities
- Unit: Cardiac/Pulmonary (Telemetry)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights (NOC), every other weekend
- Hours per Week: 48 hours
- Start Date: April 13, 2026
- Patient Ratio: 1:5-6, with 2 techs assisting on the unit
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 1 year of recent Telemetry RN experience—Cardiac telemetry and pulmonary patient care preferred
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and every other weekend
- Strong communication, clinical assessment, and teamwork skills
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess cardiac and pulmonary patients using telemetry and clinical assessment skills
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as prescribed for cardiac and pulmonary conditions
- Collaborate with physicians, techs, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and escalate changes in condition
- Document patient progress, telemetry findings, and interventions accurately in the medical record
- Respond promptly to arrhythmias, respiratory decline, and other acute changes; implement appropriate interventions
- Provide patient and family education on cardiac and pulmonary care plans and discharge instructions
