Join a dedicated team as a Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) on the Surgical Stepdown Unit in Salem, Massachusetts. This travel nurse opportunity offers a 13-week contract working 12-hour night shifts on a 23-bed stepdown unit caring for post-surgical telemetry patients. Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910 - $2,010
• Location: Salem, MA 01970 – New England / Greater Boston area (Salem healthcare jobs, Massachusetts travel nursing)
• Unit: Davenport 5 – Surgical Stepdown Unit (23 beds)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) — Night shift RN / Telemetry RN
• Hours per week: 36
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Benefit: Free on-site parking

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Telemetry RN experience (Telemetry monitoring / telemetry nursing)
• Current Massachusetts RN license (compact license candidates—please verify state eligibility)
• AHA BLS certification
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting telemetry strips
• Clinical experience managing chest tubes, NGTs, epidurals, and capnography
• Preferred: experience with arterial lines and neo-synephrine management
• Ability to float between two Med/Surgical units as needed (flexible Med/Surg skills)
• EPIC EMR experience is a plus (electronic charting / documentation)

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips for post-surgical and stepdown patients
• Provide high-quality nursing care for patients recovering from general, GYN, vascular, thoracic, urology, oral, plastics, and trauma surgeries
• Manage and troubleshoot chest tubes, NGTs, epidurals, and capnography systems
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, advanced practice providers, PT/OT, case management) to coordinate patient care
• Float between Med/Surgical and Surgical Stepdown units as required to meet patient needs
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in EPIC EMR and ensure compliance with clinical policies
• Ensure patient safety, comfort, and continuity of care during night shifts
