Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 - $1,890
- Location: Albany, GA 31701 (Albany travel nurse opportunity, Southwest Georgia)
- Contract Duration: 17 weeks (April 13, 2026 – August 10, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM), 4 shifts per week
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Unit: Acute Care 2 (Medical Surgical / Med/Surg), 44 beds
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Scrub Color: Caribbean Blue
- Charting System: MEDITECH (EMR experience preferred)
- Orientation: 1 week general, 2 days floor-specific
Requirements (Qualifications)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience in an acute care hospital setting
- Active RN license (Georgia RN or compact state license accepted)
- BLS certification (AHA required)
- NIHSS certification (AHA required)
- EMR experience with MEDITECH preferred but not required
- Ability and willingness to float to all acute care and cardiology units as needed
- Must meet strict 75-mile radius requirement from address on driver's license to hospital (per facility policy)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care to medical-surgical patients in a 44-bed acute care Med/Surg unit
- Manage patient assignments with typical RN-to-patient ratios of 1:5 (occasionally 1:6)
- Collaborate with CNAs and interdisciplinary healthcare team (CNA ratios generally 1:8–1:10)
- Document patient care accurately and timely in MEDITECH electronic medical record
- Float to acute care, cardiology, or emergency/EC units for patient holds as needed
- Participate in unit and hospital orientation and ongoing competency validation
- Work weekends and holidays per schedule; support night-shift continuity of care
