Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250 (Travel RN)
• Location: Peoria, IL 61637 — travel nursing in Peoria, Illinois
• Setting: Surgical Acute / Medical-Surgical Unit (Med/Surg RN)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 13, 2026 – July 13, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:30 PM – 7:30 AM) — night shift travel nurse
• Hours per Week: 36 hours (guaranteed)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Rotate every other holiday
• Dress Code: Any color scrubs
• Charting System: EPIC (EPIC charting experience preferred)

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois (or Illinois application initiated)
• BLS certification (AHA required)
• Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg RN experience (post-op care experience preferred)
• Strong post-op care, wound care, IV therapy, and critical thinking skills
• Excellent bedside manner and ability to work as a team player in acute care
• Negative drug screen required

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care for post-op surgical, trauma, and overflow medical patients as a Med/Surg RN
• Perform dressing changes, wound care, IV therapy, pain management, drains, NGs, central line care, and TPN management
• Manage CPAP and high-flow oxygen therapies; collaborate with Respiratory Therapy for nebulizers
• Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, and patient care technicians to ensure safe patient transitions
• Float to units with similar acuity as needed; adapt as a travel RN in the facility
• Participate in unit-specific orientation and EPIC charting training to ensure effective documentation
• Maintain high standards of patient safety, clinical documentation, and compassionate care
