- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 - $1,890 (competitive travel nurse pay)

- Position: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nurse
- Setting: Acute Care, Medical Surgical Unit (14-bed unit)
- Start Date: April 13, 2026
- End Date: August 10, 2026
- Contract Duration: 17 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM), every other weekend, rotating with permanent staff
- Hours: 36 hours per week (guaranteed)
- Patient Ratio: 1:6 (typical for Med/Surg travel nurse)
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- At least 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience in a high-acuity, large hospital setting (Med/Surg RN or acute care RN)
- Active RN license — Georgia RN or compact state license accepted
- BLS certification (AHA required); NIHSS certification required
- Demonstrated experience caring for patients with diabetes, CHF, COPD, GI bleed, renal failure/dialysis, post-surgical care, wound care/DVT, ETOH, and behavioral/psych patients
- Familiarity with MEDITECH charting system preferred (MEDITECH experience is a plus for acute care roles)
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with high turnover and fluctuating acuity
- Strong commitment to patient satisfaction, safety, and evidence-based quality of care
- Adherence to strict attendance policy and professional conduct
Responsibilities
- Provide primary nursing care to a diverse Med/Surg patient population as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Manage patient assignments and collaborate closely with CNAs, LPNs, and interdisciplinary teams
- Administer medications including Lasix, Bumex, and Heparin with accurate medication reconciliation
- Perform wound care, debridements, and monitor post-surgical patients and drains
- Coordinate care for patients with acute and chronic conditions and escalate concerns appropriately
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation using MEDITECH (or equivalent EHR) and follow unit protocols
- Maintain high standards of infection control, patient safety, and regulatory compliance
- Participate in unit rotations and scheduled weekend coverage (every other weekend)
- Follow hospital dress code (Caribbean Blue or White uniforms) and professional appearance standards
