Job Requirements / Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-appropriate)
  • BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
  • ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
  • Minimum 1 year of bedside clinical experience required (2 years highly desired)
  • Experience in LTAC, long-term acute care, or similar acute/rehabilitation nursing settings preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission
  • Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate
  • Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner
  • Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and initiate discharge planning from admission
  • Communicate changes in patient status to care providers to ensure continuity and safety
  • Supervise and provide direction to ancillary nursing personnel
  • Promote patient and employee safety by adhering to hospital policies and procedures
  • Contribute to a positive and efficient work environment through teamwork and calm direction
  • Maintain communication with management regarding supplies, equipment, and training needs
  • Assume charge responsibilities as requested after orientation
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education
