School Registered Nurse – Diabetes Education Program Coordinator (Travel) in Farmington, CT. 20-week Travel RN opportunity coordinating outpatient diabetes education with CDCES/BC-ADM required. - Employment Type: Travel Contract / Travel RN / Travel nursing jobs
- Duration: 20 weeks (Temp to Perm opportunity for the right candidate)
- Shift: 8-hour day shifts (7am/8am start times)
- Average Hours Per Week: 40
- Orientation: Every other Friday
- Mandatory Overtime: May be required as part of the rotation pool
Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of RN experience required — Registered Nurse (RN) clinical experience preferred in outpatient or diabetes care
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
- Certification as a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) and/or Board Certified in Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM) required
- Strong leadership, supervisory and organizational skills — experience mentoring staff and coordinating clinical programs
- Ability to supervise and mentor staff, including RNs and Dieticians
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee the diabetes education program within the outpatient clinic — lead diabetes education and diabetes management initiatives
- Supervise and mentor a small clinical team (2 RNs and 1 Dietician)
- Provide patient education, counseling, and support for diabetes self-management and glycemic control
- Complete administrative and program operations tasks, including documentation and quality improvement activities
- Ensure high-quality, evidence-based care and compliance with clinical standards and regulatory requirements
- Participate in mandatory overtime rotation as needed
