Job Details
- Position: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) – Travel Nurse
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,350 - $1,420
- Location: Corpus Christi, TX 78412 (Gulf Coast)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 13, 2026 – July 13, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour days (7A-7P)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Setting: 12-bed Labor & Delivery unit (maternity, perinatal care)
- Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule period
- Dress Code: Royal Blue scrubs
L&D RN Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery / maternity nursing experience
- Active RN license (Compact or state-specific RN licensure per assignment)
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and Inpatient Fetal Monitoring (IFM) required
- Preferred experience with Baxter IV Pumps and GE fetal monitoring systems
- EMR preference: experience with CPN and Meditech preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills — outgoing, eager, and confident bedside manner
Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to laboring mothers and newborns (maternity and neonatal support)
- Perform routine maternal and neonatal assessments, continuous fetal monitoring, vital signs, and point-of-care testing (finger sticks)
- Maintain appropriate patient ratios (typically 3-4 patients per RN) to ensure quality L&D care
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including RNs, new graduate nurses, nurse educators, and obstetric providers
- Float as needed to Antepartum (APU) and Postpartum units to support continuity of care
- Adhere to unit policies, clinical protocols, and patient safety guidelines for perinatal care
