  • Location: On-site in Toledo, Ohio, 43614 (Toledo, OH)
  • Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 27, 2026 – July 27, 2026)
  • Shift: Day shift, 8-hour days (Monday–Friday, 7:30 am–4:00 pm or 8:00 am–4:30 pm; no weekends, no on-call, no holidays)
  • Hours per Week: 40

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, nutrition, or related field with completed dietetic internship
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) required; eligibility to complete registration accepted if completed within 3 months of hire
  • Licensed to practice dietetics in the state of Ohio (LD) or ability to obtain Ohio license prior to start
  • At least 1 year of hospital clinical experience as an RD; acute care experience preferred
  • Competency in enteral and parenteral nutrition, medical nutrition therapy (MNT), and documentation in EMR
  • Experience with age-specific care and culturally competent nutrition counseling
  • Knowledge of Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics practice standards and professional ethics
  • Specialty certifications in nutrition support, renal nutrition, oncology, gerontology, or diabetes education are desirable

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive nutrition assessments and consultations for high-risk inpatients, including those on enteral and parenteral nutrition
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans and nutrition goals; coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, and pharmacy
  • Provide medical nutrition therapy and patient education for inpatients and outpatients, addressing therapeutic diets, drug-food interactions, lifestyle, and cultural needs
  • Manage nutrition care for ESRD patients receiving outpatient dialysis, including nutrition evaluations, care planning, and follow-up
  • Calculate and develop therapeutic diets, menus, and tube feeding regimens; act as a clinical resource for Food & Nutrition Services staff
  • Order or modify Medical Nutrition Therapy orders in the EMR within scope of practice and facility protocol
  • Mentor and precept dietetic interns, medical students, and hospital staff; actively participate in hospital committees and quality improvement initiatives
  • Document care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record and complete other duties as assigned
