Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (L&D / OB RN)
• Valid Kansas RN license or compact RN license at time of submission
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• Previous charge experience preferred
• COVID-19 and flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Ability to float to Med-Surg and Emergency Department (ER) units as needed
• Competency with fetal monitoring (EFM) and intrapartum care; EMR experience preferred
• 2 professional references required

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive intrapartum and postpartum nursing care to mothers and newborns in the Labor & Delivery unit
• Perform newborn initial assessments and support immediate neonatal needs, including NRP when required
• Monitor maternal and fetal status using electronic fetal monitoring and respond to emergent situations
• Collaborate with OB/GYN physicians, pediatric teams, and interdisciplinary staff to ensure safe patient outcomes
• Float to Med-Surg and ER units as needed, assisting with skilled swing bed, medical patients, or ER duties
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record and uphold hospital clinical standards and policies
• Participate in block scheduling, weekend rotations, and unit-based teamwork to support patient care needs
