Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250 (competitive travel RN pay)
• Location: Madison, WI 53792 — Madison, Wisconsin travel nursing opportunity
• Setting: Burn ICU (BICU), Level One Trauma Center, ACS-verified Burn Center, Magnet hospital
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (travel RN contract)
• Start Date: May 4, 2026
• End Date: August 3, 2026
• Shift: Day/Evening, 12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:30 or 07:00 - 23:30), 3 shifts per week
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend and some holidays required
• On-Site Parking: Permit required; alternative transportation options available
• Charting System: Epic experience required (electronic health record)

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of acute care ICU experience within the last 3 years (critical care / ICU nurse experience)
• Travel RN experience required
• Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license (must be in hand at submission)
• BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only)
• PALS certification preferred (pediatric critical care experience a plus)
• Experience with Epic electronic medical record required
• Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Ability to pass telemetry exam prior to start (strict criteria; two attempts allowed)
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care nursing to adult and pediatric patients with burns (thermal, chemical, electrical, scald) and complex wound care
• Manage patient ratios typically 2:1 across day, night, and weekend shifts
• Administer and monitor emergency medications, cardiac drips, sedation, and blood product administration
• Perform advanced ICU procedures including ventilator management, arterial and central line care, invasive monitoring, and telemetry interpretation
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams: IV therapy, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, and Burn Surgery
• Float to other units as needed based on staffing and clinical competencies
• Participate in self-scheduling and weekend/holiday rotations
• Complete required telemetry exam and onboarding tasks prior to start date
