- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250 (competitive travel RN pay)
- Location: Madison, WI 53792 — Madison, Wisconsin travel nursing opportunity
- Setting: Burn ICU (BICU), Level One Trauma Center, ACS-verified Burn Center, Magnet hospital
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (travel RN contract)
- Start Date: May 4, 2026
- End Date: August 3, 2026
- Shift: Day/Evening, 12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:30 or 07:00 - 23:30), 3 shifts per week
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend and some holidays required
- On-Site Parking: Permit required; alternative transportation options available
- Charting System: Epic experience required (electronic health record)
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of acute care ICU experience within the last 3 years (critical care / ICU nurse experience)
- Travel RN experience required
- Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license (must be in hand at submission)
- BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only)
- PALS certification preferred (pediatric critical care experience a plus)
- Experience with Epic electronic medical record required
- Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Ability to pass telemetry exam prior to start (strict criteria; two attempts allowed)
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
Responsibilities
- Provide critical care nursing to adult and pediatric patients with burns (thermal, chemical, electrical, scald) and complex wound care
- Manage patient ratios typically 2:1 across day, night, and weekend shifts
- Administer and monitor emergency medications, cardiac drips, sedation, and blood product administration
- Perform advanced ICU procedures including ventilator management, arterial and central line care, invasive monitoring, and telemetry interpretation
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams: IV therapy, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, and Burn Surgery
- Float to other units as needed based on staffing and clinical competencies
- Participate in self-scheduling and weekend/holiday rotations
- Complete required telemetry exam and onboarding tasks prior to start date
