• Equipment: GE 1.5T MRI systems, Epic EHR, Change (GE) PACS

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of MRI experience in a hospital radiology department (preferred for travel MRI technologist roles)
• ARRT certification/registration in Diagnostic Radiology with Advanced MRI Registry (MR) required — or must obtain within one year of hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required prior to direct patient care
• Hands-on experience with GE MRI machines (1.5T) required
• Experience with Epic EHR and PACS (Change/GE) preferred
• Associate's degree from an ARRT-accredited institution preferred
• Strong understanding of MRI safety, contrast administration, IV starts, and image quality control

Key Responsibilities

• Perform Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures according to established hospital protocols
• Apply MRI safety principles to protect patients, staff, and equipment (screening, implants, MR safety zones)
• Select appropriate MRI pulse sequences and optimize scan parameters for diagnostic image quality
• Start IVs and administer MRI contrast agents per facility policy
• Verify accuracy of patient and procedural data in Epic and PACS; ensure proper documentation
• Provide clear patient instructions and compassionate direct patient care before, during, and after exams
• Troubleshoot MRI equipment issues and coordinate with radiology maintenance or supervisors as needed
• Participate in onboarding, training, and mentorship of new staff and MRI students
