MRI Technologist (MRI Tech) – Chesapeake, VA | ARRT (R) & BLS required. 13-week travel hospital assignment (Apr 20, 2026 – Jul 20, 2026) with GE MRI experience preferred. Join our radiology team in Coastal Virginia (near Virginia Beach & Norfolk) for a rewarding imaging technologist job.

- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,030 – $2,190
- Job Type: Travel MRI Tech / MRI Technologist – Hospital Setting
- Location: Chesapeake, VA 23320 (Coastal Virginia; near Virginia Beach & Norfolk)
- Setting: Hospital MRI Unit / Radiology Department
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 20, 2026)
- Shift: Day shift, 5x8-hour days (Mon–Fri, 11:00am–7:30pm)
- Hours per Week: 40
- On-call: Rotational
- Weekend Coverage: Rotational with other staff members
- Patient Age Groups: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of MRI technologist experience; 2+ years preferred
- ARRT (R) certification required (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- Current VA license or compact state license in hand at time of application
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Proven experience with GE MRI equipment required
- Ability to participate in rotational on-call and weekend coverage
- Travel experience preferred — open to travel MRI tech candidates
- Facility requires a clean license and background (no prior license or background hits will be considered)
- Seasonal influenza vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
Key Responsibilities
- Perform MRI scans for adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients, ensuring patient safety and high-quality imaging
- Operate and optimize GE MRI scanners and related imaging equipment
- Follow isolation precautions, PPE protocols, and hospital safety procedures
- Participate in rotational on-call and weekend coverage as part of the radiology team
- Use PACS and perform image post-processing, including multiplanar reconstruction, diffusion mapping, subtraction, and perfusion imaging
- Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to support patient care
- Maintain accurate patient records, documentation, and imaging logs
- Complete required pre-start modules (3 hours, billable) prior to assignment start
