• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (March 30, 2026 – June 29, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (6:00pm – 6:30am), 3 shifts per week
• Hours: 36 hours per week (guaranteed)
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• Holiday Requirement: Rotation based on calendar
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
• Charting System: Cerner (electronic health record experience preferred)

Job Requirements (Qualifications)

• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg, PCU, Telemetry (Tele), or CCU nursing experience — medical-surgical nursing experience preferred
• Active RN license in the state of Indiana or compact RN license
• Current BLS (AHA) certification
• NIHSS certification
• Ability to float within Med/Surg scope of practice as needed
• Strong clinical skills, critical thinking, and adaptability in acute care settings

Responsibilities (Clinical Duties)

• Provide patient-centered medical-surgical nursing care for diagnoses such as pneumonia, COPD, CHF, postoperative orthopedic cases (shoulder, hip, knee), appendectomy, cholecystectomy, diverticulitis, bowel resection, and pancreatitis
• Manage chronic Bipap and CPAP equipment and provide respiratory support per unit protocols
• Administer and monitor Heparin drips following facility guidelines
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including charge nurses, case management, and house supervisors to coordinate care
• Perform thorough assessments, patient education, and discharge planning consistent with acute care nursing standards
• Complete unit-specific orientation and work with a preceptor during initial shifts to ensure safe travel nurse onboarding
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation in Cerner and adhere to facility policies, including call and cancellation procedures
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as required for the assignment
